Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility. Your prompt remittance is appreciated. We can make arrangements for a monthly payment plan but this must be done prior to the actual procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are my options for paying?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover in the office, and payment is normally due at the time of treatment. If you would rather spread the cost, there are two routes. We work with CareCredit and Cherry, both patient financing companies that let treatment be paid in installments. We can also sometimes arrange a monthly payment plan directly with the practice, though that has to be set up before treatment starts rather than afterward.
How do CareCredit and Cherry work?
Both are third party companies that pay the practice up front and let you repay them over time. You apply directly with them, they decide what to offer you, and what you are offered depends on your own circumstances. Because the terms vary by applicant and change over time, we do not publish rates or repayment periods here. Ask us at your appointment and we will point you to the right place to get current figures.
Should I apply before my appointment?
It is often easier. Applying beforehand means you arrive knowing where you stand, which makes deciding about treatment much simpler than trying to work it out in the chair. It is not required though, and plenty of people sort it out on the day.
Will I know the cost before treatment starts?
Yes. You should never be in a position of agreeing to something without knowing what it will cost. We go through the treatment plan and what it involves before anything begins, and for planned work with insurance we can usually submit a pre-treatment estimate first. If anything unexpected comes up mid treatment, we stop and talk to you rather than pressing on.
What if I cannot pay the full balance at once?
Talk to us, and ideally talk to us early. There are usually more options than people expect, including financing through CareCredit or Cherry, arranging a monthly plan with the practice in advance, or staging treatment so the most urgent work happens first and the rest follows later. What does not help is avoiding the appointment, because dental problems get more expensive the longer they are left. Call 713-723-7200.
